Objectivity
The human mind often becomes involved in every experience. The subject gets entangled with the object, causing the individual to lose their objectivity. A strong intellect rooted in Self-knowledge allows one to experience life with disinterested interest. In the short term, a person can instantly gain objectivity by understanding the insignificance of their experience across space (horizontal view) and across time (vertical view). The king of Persia is depicted as a symbol of objectivity in the poem EVEN THIS SHALL PASS AWAY by Theodore Tilton. The king experienced many things, yet he maintained his objectivity and stayed detached throughout his life.
