Reason, the Sap of Vedanta

Religion serves as a tool for personal development. Spiritual growth happens when religion is practised with courage and conviction. Humans need to develop and apply their intellect through independent thinking and questioning life experiences. Often, religious teachers simply repeat ideas, while students accept them without using reason or logic to test their validity. As a result, many people, despite their sincerity, do not advance spiritually. Merely attaching yourself to personalities does not lead to personal growth or evolution. Although it is easier to connect with a human Guru, you must not forget the ultimate goal, which is spiritual awakening.
