Pratipaksha Bhavana
Man is expected to renounce the craving for wealth, not wealth itself. This becomes possible when his intellect aims for a higher ideal. It helps him control and eventually overcome his mind’s cravings while remaining content with the wealth he earns. This captures the essence of verse 2 of Bhaja Govindam. Verse 3 introduces a technique for self-education through intellectual re-evaluation, known as Pratipaksha Bhavana. This method is used to view sense objects from a different perspective, thereby aiding in controlling the mind, which would otherwise be in a state of frenzied delusion upon the mere sight of sense objects.
