Attachment
Verses 6, 7, and 8 of Bhaja Govindam highlight the negative effects of attachment at the levels of the body, mind and intellect. People mainly identify with their gross body, and concerns about its well-being are common as long as they are alive. The mind tends to become attached to various enchantments at every stage of life. In childhood, one is attached to playthings. During youth and adulthood, desires for possessions and pleasures dominate. In old age, attachment shifts to worry and anxiety. The master laments that no one considers the Supreme Reality at any stage of life.
